Kep (កែប) is the smallest province in Cambodia covering about 336 square kilometres. Kep province separated from Kampot province in 22 December 2008. The location of Kep is by the shore line and it is rich with all seafood includes fishes, cockles, clams, squids, oysters and the most significant is that 'CRABS'.
Here in Kep we can find a market that so called 'Crab Market' which sell only live crabs. The crabs are kept in a bamboo cadges in ocean water to keep them always alive. You can buy by piece, by kilogram or more, then ask vendor or restaurant nearby to cook for you as you like it; steam, stir-fry or grill and eaten with dipping sauce, lime or pepper. Most favourite dipping sauce are teuk trey koh kong or koh kong sauce and black pepper-lime dipping sauce.
